Green & Low-Carbon Technologies Korea 2025: Real Deals, Global Impact
The EU Business Hub Green & Low-Carbon Technologies Korea 2025 business mission, held from 9 to 13 June 2025 in Seoul, marked a major milestone in connecting European innovative companies with the Republic of Korea’s rapidly evolving Green & Low-Carbon Technologies market. The business mission took place at a pivotal moment for green tech globally, with countries strengthening their net-zero commitments and private sector investment in clean technologies reaching a record high.
Over the course of five days, 36 European SMEs and start-ups held around 420 business meetings with Korean buyers, government stakeholders, and R&D partners, securing the first steps toward long-term partnerships in Green & Low-Carbon Technologies such as clean energy and circular economy.
Inside the business mission: insights and market entry
The business mission provided a deep dive into the Korean green economy, starting with a dynamic welcome event and a strategic briefing session on market trends and entry pathways.

Participants then had the opportunity to join study tours to Gridwiz and Seoul Energy Corporation – both leaders in the Republic of Korea’s transition to low-carbon infrastructure. These visits offered practical insights into the country's advanced energy management systems, solar-powered EV charging infrastructure, and real-time grid optimisation technologies. In addition, they provided participants with a deeper understanding of the local green tech ecosystem and the practical aspects of doing business in the Korean market – from navigating partnerships to aligning with national sustainability goals.
The highlight of the business mission week was the tailored matchmaking event held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas. Thanks to dedicated business meetings across two exhibition days, European companies met potential future Korean partners to discuss business opportunities, such as local pilot projects and long-term supply partnerships. Discussions proved highly productive, with many participants wrapping up meetings having identified tangible follow-up actions.

The business mission concluded with a visit to ENVEX 2025, the Republic of Korea’s key environmental industry exhibition. European companies explored the latest developments in renewable energy – while continuing to network with public and private players shaping the Republic of Korea’s green transition.
What participants say
Feedback from European participants and Korean visitors pointed to the strong business value of the business mission – from direct commercial leads to deeper strategic insight into the Republic of Korea’s clean tech landscape.
“The EU Business Hub has connected us with direct contacts in the Korean market – not only potential customers, but also contractors who can significantly strengthen our local supply chain. We see strong potential for expansion in the region” – Raido Lember, PowerUp Fuel Cells OÜ, Estonia.

Others highlighted the unique value of on-the-ground engagement:
“It’s been a great opportunity to get to know the Korean market and connect with local partners. I highly recommend taking part in this business mission” – Javier Berute, Kunak Technologies S.L., Spain.
Korean partners also saw promising outcomes from the meetings held.
“Our meetings went well, and we had in-depth discussions about potential direct investment and joint development. A visit to one of the participants is scheduled for later this month, and we expect the collaboration to progress further after that” – Yuro Gwon, Hankook AAC, the Republic of Korea.
For many participants, the business mission provided not only direct access to new markets, but also a stronger understanding of how to customise their value proposition to the local market, navigate Korean business culture, and identify the right entry points in this sector.

Looking ahead: stronger ties in a growing sector
With the Republic of Korea aiming to boost green industry exports to €67 billion by 2027 and investing nearly €270 million into green export development, the potential for collaboration is only growing. As global supply chains decarbonise and digitalise in parallel, partnerships forged today between European and Korean players are likely to set the tone for climate-smart industries of tomorrow.
The EU Business Hub will continue supporting Europe’s most innovative SMEs and start-ups navigating these global growth opportunities.
