Eversens looks east: a Spanish medtech company expands into Asia with support from EU Business Hub

When Eversens, a Spanish medical diagnostics company based in Pamplona, joined the EU Business Hub mission to KIMES 2026 in Seoul in March 2026, the aim was clear: meet potential partners, better understand the market, and explore new business opportunities in Asia. The results went further than expected.

The company develops diagnostic devices based on exhaled breath analysis, a non-invasive method used to detect biomarkers such as nitric oxide (NO). The test performed by the company’s technology is known as FeNO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide), which plays an important role in asthma diagnosis and in assessing airway inflammation. The company’s products are designed to give healthcare professionals fast and reliable information while making the testing process easier for patients.

For a growing European SME, entering new healthcare markets can be difficult. It often requires local contacts, understanding of regulations, and trusted distributors. The business mission gave Eversens an opportunity to address those challenges in a short period of time through market intelligence presentations and documentation, coaching sessions and organised business meetings.

“Participating in KIMES 2026 business mission has been a highly positive and enriching experience, providing us with valuable exposure and the opportunity to establish promising international contacts,” said Jorge Pascual, Chief Commercial Officer at Eversens.

A stronger focus on Asia

For Eversens, the mission was not only about sales leads. It also helped refine the company’s broader international strategy. Until now, the company had not generated sales in Asia. The response received during the mission showed that the region may offer stronger prospects than previously expected.

During the mission, the company representatives met distributors, commercial representatives and healthcare stakeholders interested in new diagnostic technologies. What stood out most was that interest extended beyond the Republic of Korea. The team says it established valuable contacts in Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia as well, opening several parallel opportunities for future growth. “We expect these connections to evolve into long-term business relationships that will support our growth and expansion within the Asian market,” said Jorge Pascual.

The meetings gave Eversens better understanding of how different markets operate – from regulatory processes to customer expectations. Many potential partners showed strong interest in the technical and clinical value of the company’s devices, highlighting the importance of quality and evidence. For Eversens, this confirmed that understanding the market is as important as building commercial relationships, especially in a sector where entry takes time. As Jorge Pascual notes, this knowledge is “essential for long-term success.”

Looking ahead, the company plans to maintain momentum by continuing follow-up discussions with contacts made during the mission. The management has also expressed interest in future EU Business Hub activities, particularly in Japan.

For Eversens, the visit to Seoul became an important step in building a presence in Asia and in turning European innovation into new international business opportunities, with the EU Business Hub programme playing a key enabling role.
