SARM Project taps into the Republic of Korea’s demand for high-efficiency green solutions
The Greek engineering company SARM Project, known for its developments in air compressors and internal combustion engines, participated in the Green and Low-Carbon Technologies Korea 2025 business mission as part of its strategy to target the Korean market. The company used the opportunity to introduce its novel technology to the market – and returned with concrete business leads, strategic insights, and new momentum for growth in Asia.
Showcasing EU innovation in clean engineering to the Republic of Korea
SARM Project develops new types of machines that are designed to be simpler, cleaner, and more efficient than traditional models. Instead of modifying existing technologies, SARM creates entirely new solutions that use less energy, take up less space, and require less maintenance. Their focus is on reducing environmental impact while delivering strong performance – a combination that appeals to industries seeking more sustainable ways of operating.
“Our goal is to offer the most efficient and environmentally sustainable technologies in these categories,” Stephanos Savvakis, Co-Founder of the SARM Project explained. “What sets our technology apart is its entirely novel design.”
The Republic of Korea was a clear choice for exploring international partnerships. With its advanced industrial sector and strong focus on green growth, the Korean market is home to many companies actively seeking innovative and eco-friendly solutions. It is renowned for its excellence in high-tech industries and is home to many global leaders in innovation and manufacturing.
Participation in the EU Business Hub mission gave SARM structured access to this market – including tailored meetings, market insights, and direct contact with Korean companies working in sectors aligned with their technology. “The EU Business Hub gave us the opportunity to learn, connect, and engage with a market that had previously been out of reach,” Stephanos Savvakis said. “Thanks to the exceptional organisation and support, we achieved far more – in far less time – than would have been possible on our own.”
From market entry strategy to tangible leads
The EU Business Hub programme supported SARM throughout every phase of the business mission – from in-depth preparation and tailored briefings to on-the-ground matchmaking and follow-up. With approximately a month of structured guidance, SARM arrived in Seoul equipped with the tools and insights needed to succeed. The company engaged in targeted meetings, gained valuable market intelligence, and laid the groundwork for business relationships that are already translating into tangible results.
SARM reported strong interest from Korean companies, including several that requested additional meetings after the main exhibition.
“Every company we met during the mission reached out to us within four days of its conclusion, which speaks to the relevance and quality of the business matchmaking,” Mr Savvakis noted. One of those companies has since visited SARM’s headquarters in Greece, and a return visit to the Republic of Korea is already being planned. “From our perspective, the return on both time and effort is impressive,” he noted.
The company is now in active discussions with several partners and confirmed that one of these is already in advanced negotiations. These conversations include investment and co-development opportunities, as well as product adaptations for the Korean market.
